Clifton Taylor

Clifton Taylor (Lighting Designer – Chicago, IL) has created lighting designs for acclaimed theater, opera and dance companies. His Broadway credits include: Jay Johnson: The Two and Only, currently on US tour (LA Garland Award, LA Drama Critics Circle & Ovation Nominations), Frozen (Lortel Nomination), and Hot Feet (Henry Hewes Nomination). Other recent New York credits include: the City Center Encores presentation of Face the Music; Anne of Green Gables at the Lortel Theater; the Karole Armitage and Elisa Monte Dance Companies at the Joyce Theater and the Fall for Dance Festival where Taylor has been Festival Lighting Director since 2003. Opera credits include: Peter Sellar’s Vienna New Crowned Hope Festival; Tanglewood Music Center (with music director James Levine); and the Opera de Lorraine, Paris. He has also created designs for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theater, and San Francisco Ballet among many others. Upcoming projects include: One Shot for Ron K Brown/Evidence and Carmen for Carlota Santana Ballet Flamenca at the Joyce Theater; and Ariadne Unhinged for Gotham Opera at the Henry Street Settlement.
